Paul van Leeuwen from the Netherlands winner of the European Croupier Championship in Spain

Amsterdam – Paul van Leeuwen, croupier at Holland Casino, has won the 2007 ECA European Dealer Championship, the European Croupier Championship held in Torrequebrada, Spain. Lieve Daschot from Belgium, dealer at the Blankenberg Casino, was the runner-up. Ten European countries sent their best croupiers to represent them in Spain: Austria, Estonia, Denmark, Belgium, Finland, Greece, Luxembourg, Spain, Sweden and the Netherlands.

Croupiers participating in the championship were to show their skills at the Black Jack table and the American Roulette. The jury evaluated the participants for their techniques, game skills and game insight, communication skills and guest focus. Paul van Leeuwen, a croupier at the Utrecht Holland Casino, was the most skilled participant, and will carry the title of best European croupier for one full year.
