European Community demands France, Italy and Austria to open the sportbooks market

At this moment, France, Italy and Austria monopolize the sportbooks market and their respective public administrations. The European Community demands that they have to open the market in order to guarantee the free flow of capitals and services inside the union, as other countries have performed.

The councils of París, Rome and Vienna refuse to adopt such measures before the European Community, stating public health reasons. They also say that the games of chance offer has already expanded in their territories, and, if expanded, it would have negative consequences for the population. Brussels accepts this statement, but then it demanded that the public administration should give part of its business to private operators, as it happens in the UK. If France, Austria and Italy deny to do it, the entity could start a process to impose sanctions to these countries.
