Competition good for business: Stanley Ho

Macau’s gaming mogul Stanley Ho Hung-sun claimed that the opening of competitor Wynn Resorts had increased business in his own casinos, the Macau Daily reported.

Ho said Baccarat accounted for 80 per cent of Macau’s gaming market, 63 per cent of which came from the VIP rooms. He said the Baccarat market could be expanded. He also predicted that with his new casino opening by the end of this year, his company would have a larger share of the middle-end market.

Ho said that since Wynn Resorts opened on September 6, his company’s business “is getting better, proving competition is good. A positive competition with Wynn helps expand the market. Naturally it’s a good thing.”
