New Editor-in-Chief of Poker Pro Magazine Announced

Poker Pro Magazine, one of the largest selling poker lifestyle publications in North America, has tapped John „Johnny Quads“ Wenzel as its new Editor-in-Chief. He will be responsible for overall product and content for the Boca Raton, Florida-based monthly.

Wenzel is a successful high-stakes Hold’em player, magazine editor, author, and professional poker dealer based in South Florida. Playing poker since he was a tot on Long Island decades ago, Wenzel has accomplished what all players strive for but few achieve: showing a poker profit every year. A Hold’em specialist, he has also won tournaments both online and in the „real“ world, the most recent being the 2006 Oklahoma State Pot-Limit Hold’em Championship.

Wenzel is the author of three books on poker: The Everything Poker Strategy Book, Everything Hold’em, and an upcoming release titled The Only Poker Book You’ll Ever Need.

Quads has worked as a reporter, designer and editor at newspapers, magazines and tabloids in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Florida, including Star, The National Enquirer and The Palm Beach Post. He earned a journalism degree from the hotbed of college poker, the University of Wisconsin in Madison, and in his spare time still deals a mean hand of poker at the Palm Beach Kennel Club.

Wenzel earned the nickname „Johnny Quads“ fifteen years ago when he was dealt four-of-a-kind on four consecutive hands at the Mirage, the last being four fours.

„Johnny Quads is at the top of his field as a writer, editor and a player,“ said Dan Jacobs, publisher of Poker Pro Magazine. „His hiring means we are raising the stakes in the world of poker publishing.“
