Suspected Killer Arrested After Standoff at Harrah’s

Las Vegas – Police stormed a room at a Las Vegas Strip hotel-casino this morning and arrested a suspected gunman who authorities said killed another man and shot at police and paramedics.

A SWAT team took the unidentified man into custody on an upper floor of the Harrah’s hotel-casino, where guests were evacuated from several nearby floors during a six-hour standoff.

The suspected gunman did not surrender, and it was not immediately clear if he resisted when officers entered the room, police Sgt. Chris Jones said.

Guests were evacuated from several upper floors in one tower, but the casino was not closed during the standoff.
